About Trophy Room

Behind an unassuming door on Argyle Street, Trophy Room serves an inventive, produce-led multi-course dinner right in front of you. Diners crowd around the communal timber table while cooks work the open-air kitchen with calm precision. The kitchen pivots across a weekly-shifting menu, sending out house-baked malted sourdough with onion butter, briny Boomer Bay oysters, and whiting spooned with warm beurre blanc. Mainland travelers and North Hobart neighbors settle in over a dry vermouth or a clean martini, letting the kitchen steer the meal via their communal feed-me run. Plates come out across vintage porcelain, ending on a crisp caramel cruller paired with miso and maple.

  • Open-Kitchen Setting: An open-air kitchen sits directly inside the dining space, where cooks plate dishes right beside counter seats and a shared long table.
  • Weekly Seasonal Menu: A frequently changing feed-me format showcases local seasonal ingredients, from handmade ricotta ravioli to Boomer Bay oysters.
  • Curated Drinks & Pairings: Thoughtful wine pours and sharp martinis accompany the kitchen's courses, backed by attentive adjustments for dietary needs.

Before you head over

Practical advice for timing, reservations, and navigating the menu

  • Book well ahead to secure a table

The dining room fills quickly even on weeknights, so reserve well in advance rather than chancing a wait as a walk-in.

  • Trust the chef with the feed me menu

Opt for the chef's 'feed me' multi-course option to experience the full seasonal spread without navigating the fast-changing menu dish by dish.

  • Note allergies and dietary preferences early

Notify the team when booking; they comfortably tailor multi-course options for vegetarians, pescatarians, vegans, and gluten-free diets.
