Use a pedestrian map rather than the driving route, and inspect crossings and path surfaces from your exact starting point. A waterfront or park-side approach may be more pleasant.

Is there an easy walking route from central Hobart to the Botanic Gardens?
The road map looks dominated by major traffic, and we prefer a pleasant pedestrian route.
