A good question.
A local answer.

Ask your accommodation about cutlery or a table if you plan to eat in. Keep a grocery fallback for a late arrival or a fully booked evening.

For two or more travellers, compare the total shuttle cost with a taxi or rideshare rather than only the single fare.

Check current access and opening hours before setting the route. Weather or road notices can change what is practical in a forest area.

An overnight on the Tasman Peninsula can give you a calmer start at Port Arthur, provided you are comfortable driving after the flight. Check daylight, road conditions and check-in times.

Read the exact rental contract and obtain written permission for the ferry and island roads before booking the car. Do not assume a verbal exception covers insurance.

Read recent room reviews for noise and parking, especially if your stay includes a busy evening. A dining street may be convenient without being quiet at bedtime.

Check the ferry's current departure point and boarding requirement, and allow the walk from the stalls. Keep purchases light if you will carry them around MONA.

If you hope for local designers, separate that search from chain stores. A compact city walk after the market will be more useful than driving through several suburbs with limited time.

Make the last day near Launceston rather than a long Freycinet diversion before a flight. Allow time for fuel, car return and unexpected slow roads.

Check current opening hours for any tasting room or shop you particularly want. Decide who will drive before including alcohol tastings.

Port Arthur can be Sunday's main outing if the return drive still leaves a safe airport buffer. Check car-return instructions and the site's last entry.

Choose by the driving routes and evening meals you will use, not only the view from the room. A quiet apartment with parking can work well if you accept a short trip into the centre.
