    Mount Field National Park is a practical choice for a dedicated day. Start at the visitor centre and Russell Falls, then add another short walk only if time and conditions suit. Check the Tasmania Parks alerts, park-pass requirement and road conditions before leaving; the higher Lake Dobson area is a separate, more demanding part of the park.
