If contemporary art is a priority, allow a leisurely visit and ferry time. If scenery matters more, a separate mountain outing may be more satisfying than rushing both.

Look at MONA's current exhibitions, opening day and ticket inclusions before buying extras. The main visit can fill several hours on its own.
